Brick and Balloon is a venture that aims to investigate  architecture, drawing and theory.

The supposed solidity of architecture is represented by  bricks, while the apparent abstraction of theory is represented by balloons.

They are linked by the simultaneous act of the brick grounding the balloon in lived reality and the balloon lifting the brick into conceptual analysis.

Brick and Balloon is the brainchild of Omar Ghazal who has recently completed his Masters at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL and is centrally interested in the way that social frames dictate mass perception of people and events resulting in an architecture that challenges conventional frames of reference.

Brick and Balloon could nopt be possible without the assistance of Daniel Barnes, who  works as an art critic as well as writing. In addition to his theoretical concerns, he pursues an interest in the practical reality of the contemporary artworld through curating exhibitions.
